Media Fact Sheet
| The Organization: |
Lange is the only North American transportation
and logistics management company devoted entirely to the trade
/ consumer show and special events market. The Toronto-based
company was founded in 1986. It is Canadian owned and operated
and an agent for Atlas Van Lines Canada. |
| Services Offered: |
There is no other
company in Canada that provides such an in-depth and comprehensive
understanding of all the elements that must come together
in order to produce a successful event. The company is the
acknowledged Canadian leader in exhibition and special event
project management, transportation and logistical management
services.
As an official event carrier,
Lange provides professional, on-time and affordable services
from anywhere in North America for exhibitors, suppliers
and participants.
Services include transportation,
materials handling / drayage, floor management, move-in
scheduling, advance show receiving, customs brokerage, bonded
warehousing, short and long-term storage, and equipment
rentals including security cages, dollies, golf carts and
forklifts.
Specialized services include an
electronics and high value products (HVP) program to handle
computer systems, automatic teller machines, medical and
industrial equipment, sensitive electronics, store fixtures
and furniture. |
| Warehousing: |
Lange’s main
facility is a modern warehouse in Mississauga, Ontario near
Highway 401 and Dixie Road. It is ideal for short and long-term
storage of domestic and bonded material. For companies whose
transportation and warehouse needs include a distribution
element,
Lange can develop flexible customer
driven distribution plans tailored to each company’s
individual requirements.
Lange provides dry and heated pre-show / post-show domestic
and bonded storage for exhibitors who ship in advance of
move-in. Exhibitors appreciate the opportunity to ship in
advance since this allows time to replace missing or damaged
pieces. This is critical for foreign exhibitors where international
shippers can encounter possible customs delays.
|
| Lange’s Fleet: |
Lange’s fleet
consists of a wide variety of general and specialized vehicles.
The company’s inventory includes 26-foot straight
trucks, with or without power tailgates, 48-foot flat floor
and drop frame trailers and 53-foot trailers. All units
are equipped with air-ride suspension, furniture blankets,
straps, decking bars and complete logistical tracking.

| Recent Activities: |
MODE Accessories
launched Western Canada Shows in Calgary in February and
June. Lange handled both events as the project manager as
well as materials handling and official carrier.
For the Motorcycle Shows, Lange
manages the freight for the major exhibitors. Starting with
the Toronto Motorcycle Show in December and traveling across
Canada to Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Quebec City and
Montreal, Lange handled nine tractor-trailer loads of freight
for BMW, Honda, Suzuki Canada, Harley Davidson and Kawasaki.
Starting with the largest show
in Canada, the CGTA Gift Show, Lange is gearing up for another
busy gift show season. Lange is an official carrier for
the CGTA, plus the Toronto International, Alberta, Montreal,
Vancouver and Maritime Gift Shows, handling hundreds of
shipments for these events. Lange also handles the materials
handling, floor management and other roles for the CGTA,
Montreal and Maritime Shows.
Lange was retained by HP Canada
to assist in the relocation of the information networking
equipment of University Health Networks. The equipment was
moved from a congested area in downtown Toronto to a high
security building in Mississauga. This is an ongoing, extremely
time sensitive, 20-week program.
As part of TD Canada Trust’s
acquisition of Laurentian Bank of Canada, 43 branches were
closed in one day and employees transferred to new locations.
Lange’s HVP (High Value Product) group was contracted
to assist with this move.
Lange has been selected to provide
project management services for a new Wal-Mart Canada show
to be held in October at the Toronto Congress Center. This
event was only given the go ahead in late July. Services
will include market research, media selection and placement,
and the control of all operational aspects of the event.
Since 1999, Lange has supplied similar services for the
500,000 square foot Wal-Mart February Manager’s Meeting
and Vendor Fair.
Greg Smith, Vice President of
Sales at Lange was inducted into the Canadian Association
of Exposition Management (CAEM) Hall of Fame at the 2004
CAEM Annual Conference. Greg has been with Lange since 1993
and prior to that he spent 18 years in the transportation
industry specializing in the movement of trade show freight.
Eric Lange, President and founder of Lange was inducted
into the CAEM Hall of Fame in 2003. |

"Your organization
is truly outstanding. I have never experienced such an efficient
and smooth running exposition contractor. This is apparent
in all stages, but I was particularly impressed with the
smooth move in and move out of the exhibitor materials.
The sophistication of your exhibit designs and the quality
of your graphics exceeded all my expectations. The Canadian
Automobile Dealers Association exhibit met all our objectives
and even competed architecturally with the most sophisticated
and expensive auto exhibits in the show. The bonus, of course,
was that everything was under budget".
- R. C. (Rick) Gauthier,
President, Canadian Automobile Dealers Association
"I am impressed by the way
you manage a show floor. Your efforts contributed to an
excellent show and many exhibitors expressed their appreciation
for the smooth move in and move out of the show".
- Anita Schachter, Group Manager,
Eastern Canadian Gift Shows, dmg world media
"On site, the move in and
move out went extremely smoothly due in large part to Lange’s
staff".
- Gillian Blakey, Coordinator,
Member Services, Baking Council of Canada
"With all the confusion of
two shows moving in and out on the same day, you made everything
run seamlessly. Thank you for taking on the responsibility
of dealing with all the exhibitors’ needs including
decorating, drayage and electrical services".
- Lynne Hewitson, Trade Show
